A logo is not just a pretty drawing. Ours tells where our soaps come from and what we believe in. Here is what lies behind it.
The “M” of Eastern houses
The letter M of Maison du Laurier is inspired by the arches of old Eastern houses, those curves found in the architecture of Aleppo and the whole Levant. It is a nod to the soap’s region of origin, to its inner courtyards and its art of living.
The laurel leaves
The leaves in the logo are those of the laurel, the tree from which laurel berry oil is drawn. It is the ingredient that sets Aleppo soap apart from all others: it soothes, purifies and helps restore the skin’s protective film.
“A piece of nature”
Our signature sums up our promise. Our Aleppo soaps are pieces of nature, because they are 100% natural: olive oil, laurel berry oil, water and soda, with no synthetic fragrance or colourant. Just the essentials, as it has been done for centuries.
Behind this logo, then, there is a geography, a plant and a conviction: caring for the skin with simple, honest products.
A name that already says the essential
Before the drawing, it is the name that sets the scene. “Maison du Laurier” (House of Laurel) brings together two ideas dear to us. The house, first: a place of transmission, of family, of gestures repeated from generation to generation, exactly as the making of Aleppo soap is passed on. The laurel, then: the tree whose berry oil makes all the difference of this soap, unique in the world.
Together, these two words tell our promise: to bring into your home a simple, natural care, full of history, with nothing artificial or superfluous.
More than an image, a commitment
Behind every element of our identity lies a promise we keep every day: authentic Aleppo soaps, made in Aleppo by our partner master soap maker, and offered at a fair price. The logo is only the visible part of this work. The essential plays out in the quality of the oils, the respect of the curing time and the trust we build with you, soap after soap. It is our way of telling you that this is indeed a piece of nature, and that it comes from somewhere.
